Merrill has Finally Learned...

Yesterday was Merrill and I's 9th wedding anniversary and he has finally learned after all these years not to get me flowers. He came home instead with my favorite chocolates from in the whole world. They're from Woodhouse Chocolates in St. Helena and they truly are the BEST chocolates! The people who work there are also the SNOBBIEST people in the world and Merrill hates going there for that reason, so I appreciate the effort that much more. He also got a really cool bottle of aged balsamic vinegar. That may sound kind of lame to most of you, but I really liked it. He is also making arrangments for me to have a night away all by myself at a hotel or spa, which will be great.

I thought I got Merrill a delux Scrabble game, but he let me know that since the traditional gift for a 9 year anniversary is leather, that I got him a leather messenger bag/briefcase for work. He told me that it's very neat and that I'll really like it. I love it when you're finally at a place in your marriage that your husband starts to get his own anniversary gifts. Ahh, I've trained him well.
