Gingerbread House Extravaganza

Last week, Merrill and I helped William's class make a gingerbread house. It was so much fun working with the kids. They had great ideas on how to decorate it and they were really awesome at it. On Friday, we got to go to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) up in St. Helena for a field trip where we learned more about gingerbread houses and how to decorate them. William got to build a car with the chef. It was so fun for the kids. The whole thing was in one of the classrooms there and all of the kids got chef's hats and Christmas cookies to taste during the class. Tonight we get to go back for a party at the CIA to see the gingerbread house that William's class made and for a little that they have up there for all of the schools that participated in it. We are really excited to go.

Our class's gingerbread house. You can see the gingerbread men beating the santas in tug of war on the side of the house. There is a santa sledding down a hill. A snowman iceskating on our pond that I made and santas playing four square.

The front of the "King"dom of Sweets (Merrill thought it would be funny to name it that because William's teacher is Mrs. King)
