Christmas this year was so nice and relaxing. I loved it. Merrill and I didn't have to stay up very last Christmas Eve making sure that everything was ready for Santa. We got to bed around 12am, which I thought was great. William was the first up at around 7am (as always) . He got in bed with us and had a little snuggle time. Then he said he needed to go see what time it was on the clock in his room. The next thing we knew, Maddie & Jackson were up too. Surprise, surprise. We made the kids wait on the stairs until Merrill and I looked presentable and Merrill could get a picture of the tree before the madness. The kids loved everything. It was a smaller Christmas than it has been in the past, but the kids didn't care one bit and they loved everything they got. My favorite line of the morning came from Maddie after she opened her Dora the Explorer bath toy. She said, "I've wanted this for years and years and years and Santa finally brought it to me." I had to laugh. Apparently, she wanted it before she was even born.
After a very relaxing morning (I even got a little nap), we went over to the Turner's for an early Christmas dinner. It was delicious. They really out did themselves. The kids ate everything, which is saying a lot. After dinner, presents and a little football at the Turner's, it was back over here for some Wii and board games. We tried to play Are you Smarter than a 3rd Grader & Family Feud, but realized that we really need a bigger TV, preferably a flat screen. We were all right in front of the TV trying to read the questions, with not a lot of success.
