Jackson has been feeling sick since last week, and I just thought he had a cold. But with everyone freaking out about swine flu, I thought I'd better call the doctor yesterday since he had had a fever for 5 days and was not breathing well. We went in and were talking about his symtoms. I told her that I didn't think it was anything because he had his ear tubes put in a few weeks ago. She said she was going to check his ears anyway just to make sure. And, when she looked in she said, "Well this is something I've never seen before." (Not something you want a doctor to say to you.) She went on to say that he has puss in his ears, but it wasn't draining out of the tubes. She thought it was because there wasn't enough fluid to reach the tubes, but she called the ENT to find out what she thought we should do. And, of course, the answer was antibiotics, AGAIN!!!!! Really? Are you kidding me? We had the tubes put in so he wouldn't have to have anymore antibiotics! Talk about frustration. On the bright side, he is getting much better about taking his inhaler. Poor Jackers. Someday his ears will be better and we won't have to do this anymore. I hope!
