California Says Yes

Today the supreme court of California upheld Prop 8 and rejected same sex marriages. I had to laugh just a little bit because my mom always says how liberal California is and yet, California has rejected same sex marriages in 3 elections and now the courts, while Iowa allows same sex marriages. I guess California is a little bit more conservative than we thought.

I guess California wont sink into the sea yet. God might keep us around for a while longer.

And wow, the courts actually decided that the voice of the people should stand, and not the voice of a few. Imagine that?! It'll be back on the ballot within the next 3 years. But at least we can enjoy it for a little while...

See you this weekend!

Lisa,
I really hadn't thought much abt the prop 8 thing but I'm glad that it passed for 3 yrs. Way to go CA. The really crazy thing is abt Merrill's club and the opposition to that. Now you have to admit there are a few nut cases there. I'm praying that they get the O.K. and if they do I will give a BIG high five to CA. I really don't think that I'm the only person you know that thinks CA is a tad bit liberal including your dad but I guess I'm the one you have to beat up. I can take it! Like I said way to go CA and now bless my son-in-law with a BIG yes.
love you,
Mom
