Final Trip of the Summer--Part 1

We went to Southern California a couple of weeks ago and had a fabulous time. The kids were really great on the drive down. The ride back was a little loud, but we survived. We did so much I can't believe it. Here is part one of the trip. We went to San Diego for the day with my great aunt & uncle Colleen and DeVaughn. We went to the Mormon Battalion in Old Town. It was so neat there. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes history. We learned so much and it really is the most beautiful place in Old Town (oh and the best bathrooms, very important to a pregnant woman).

The picture that they took of us there. I think it should be our Christmas card. hee hee!

William was picked to dress up like a soldier. I love this picture of him.

The next day, we went to an orange grove and Maddie got to pick some oranges.

Ahh, they smell so delicious!

We also went swimming all afternoon. The kids loved the pool and Jackson was quite the little fish with his life vest on.

The biggest thing that happened during the trip was I got my hair cut, short! I love it. My good friend, Lia did it. She always gives the best haircuts. After she cut my hair, she kidnapped me and took me to Vegas for the weekend. I couldn't believe Colleen and Merrill thought it would be a great idea and agreed to take care of the kids. We had so much fun just relaxing and eating all weekend.

This is my before shot in front of Lia's new salon.

The after shot with Lia. I really need some makeup!

Jackson in the world's smallest port-a-crib. Poor baby.

I agree with Jade about your hair and I love aunt Colleen's new do also!

Your trip looked wonderful and can't wait to see the rest. We all missed seeing the Hiserman's this summer and Matthew was very sad because he won't see his CA cousins for 3 years but hopefully we can have you all come for his farewell. The Temples are coming because the boys said Matt can't leave without seeing them one more time.

We all have a marvelous time at uncle DeVaughn and aunt Colleen's new gorgeous home. They make us all feel so comfortable and welcome. We didn't get to swim because it was cold for that. Next time in GeNeil's new pool. We are all so blest to have a wonderful family in southern CA.

We are now counting the days till you come to visit us in NH and you will get to see Uncle Craigie and he is very excited abt being here with family!

Love and hugs,
Mom
