Chicago Trip Part 1

Ahh, Christmas vacation is finally over.  We spent 9 amazing days in Chicago and St Louis and then we just tried to survive the rest of the 3 week vacation without killing our overly exhausted kids.  My kids did not go to bed before 2am the ENTIRE time we were in Chicago!  I'm so happy school starts back up in the morning and I think deep down inside, they are too.
We had so much fun in Chicago!  JJ & Tina's kids had made a big banner to welcome us.  They were counting down the days and minutes until we got there just like our kids were.  The first day, we went to JJ's office and Tina and I did some shopping.  The 2nd day, the girls were off to The American Doll Store in downtown Chicago.  Talk about a money maker.  That place is raking in the dough!  It was so much fun though.  They have a beauty salon/spa for your doll, a hospital, a sweet shop and a restaurant in the 2 story store with tons of dolls and a gazillion outfits and accessories for little girls to go crazy over.
Such a fun welcome banner!

Maddie looks like she just dropped her doll, but wait for it...

Nope, complete melt down before we left because her tights didn't feel right.   Wow!

After an hour ride on the train, she was feeling better in the train station.

Of course, maddie would be the kid to ask if she could ring the bell.  (I love how she's holding the doll)

We've made it to American Doll Mecca and Maddie is happy as can be with her new doll.

Lunch with the ladies

This restaurant was the cutest thing I've ever seen and it was packed!  Even the bathrooms were darling.  I would love to go back, but I don't think my wallet could handle it.  Definitely a worthwhile experience!

What a fun way to start our trip!
