Maddie's Birthday Tea Party

Maddie had her first "friend's" birthday party today. We had a tea party. It was so much fun and all of the kids looked just adorable all dressed up. Even the boys got into it! Maddie wore her new princess dress, high heals and tiarra that she got from Grandma and Grandpa Temple for her birthday. She was gorgeous! She even let me do her hair 4 times, so I could get it right.

It was so refreshing to do a girl's party. Even though there were a couple of boys, it was so calm and all none of the kids got crazy. It was completely different than William's parties. I think I had more fun decorating and cooking for this party than the kids did enjoying it! I asked Maddie what her favorite part was and she said, "Everything mommy!" I just love her.
When the kids came in, they got to pick out jewels and crowns out of the jewlery box.
Before we ate, we read from Fancy Nancy's book about how to have proper manners at a tea party. The kids thought it was funny to say fancy french words. (Oh, did I mention that Maddie picked out my dress too.)
The table before the kids came in The party guest enjoying some tea sandwiches, jam pinwheel sandwiches, fruit with dip, goldfish, olives, mini pickles, celery with cheese, bugles and of course, tea (which was really Kool-Aid)
Maddie with her loot and her birthday sign that Merrill made for her. She couldn't be happier!
The party guests (Kaitlin, Dylan, Maddie, Ellie, Tanner & Heidi)
Maddie making her wish and blowing out her candles. After she blew out them out, she asked if she was 4 now.
Smack that cute teapot pinata, Maddie! There is nothing like a bunch of kids going for the pinata loot. All of the kids were so cute showing each other what they got. They were so excited for each other.
The decorations in the front room. Merrill and I were having fun hanging the crape paper last night. We couldn't stop.
The table after lunch. I never have enough food. Yeah, right!
The dessert table. The empty plate had cream puffs added. This table was the hit of the party. Surprise, surprise!

SO fun! Oh to be 4 again. What a GREAT party. I admit, all the talk of food and goodies has made me hungry! Great job!

Lisa, you should go into the party business.
I love Maddie's quotes. I don't want to ever forget them. Every thing looked great.
