A Wicked Birthday

My birthday was a couple of days ago and it was FABULOUS!!! Normally, I have kind of lame birthdays, but Merrill went above and beyond this year to make it extra special. It started off with a trip to the DMV to renew my license. Fun, I know. Even though it was waiting in lines for 1 1/2 hours, it wasn't bad. The people by me were so nice and let me sit down a lot.
After the DMV and getting the kids settled with the babysitter, it was time to leave for the city for dinner and to see Wicked! Merrill had made reservations for 4 at a new restaurant called Heaven's Dog (the owners also own The Slanted Door, so you know the food is great). As soon as I found out I called Josie and Justin to have them come with us because they love a food adventure and are always game for any kind of food. And, boy of boy was the food ever delicious. It was Chinese food, but on a different level. Merrill is friends with the Chef and he just kept bringing out more and more food. I even ate eggplant and I don't eat eggplant, but this was so yummy. After dinner, it was time to run around the corner to see Wicked. Merrill and I both LOVED it, and I'm so glad we finally went before it closed. Thanks babe for an amazing birthday!!!!

Merrill and I with one of the 3 desserts that they brought us. This one was a carmel mousse cake with a to die for carmel sauce on the side. The 4 of us with Michael, the chef/owner. He took such great care of us.

What a great birthday. Merrill you get the award for being the best birthday planner ever. I didn't think any thing could be better than your Mother's Day treat but I think this topped that. We love you and look forward to another visit from the Hisermans.
